At Little Learners, we see parents and carers as partners in every step of their child’s journey. When home and nursery work together, children feel secure, confident and ready to explore. That’s why open communication and trust sit at the heart of everything we do.
We believe consistency between home and nursery is key to a child’s wellbeing and development. Our Key Person System helps us achieve that – each child is paired with a practitioner who gets to know them deeply, builds a strong relationship with their family, and ensures that every milestone, comfort and curiosity is understood.
Parents are always welcome to discuss their child’s progress, routines or concerns with their key person. These regular conversations – both formal and informal – help us maintain a joined-up approach where everyone feels informed and involved.

Tracking progress together
We keep detailed assessments of each child’s learning and development, which families can view and discuss at any time. Our digital platform – Famly – allows parents to log in from home to see updates, photos and observations about their child’s day and progress. This shared visibility keeps parents connected to what their child is learning – from new words and friendships to their first steps into independent play.
Regular communication
We use a blend of formal updates and relaxed, personal contact to stay connected with families:
- Daily handovers and chats at drop-off and pick-up
- Online updates through our digital platform, Famly.
- Parent evenings and open sessions
- Newsletters and event invites to share what’s happening in nursery life
Our goal is simple: parents should never feel out of the loop.
Working with wider support
Sometimes a child or family may benefit from extra help – whether that’s from a speech and language therapist, audiologist or other specialist. We’ll always involve parents from the start, ensuring everyone understands what support is available and how it can help their child.
By sharing insights, celebrating progress and communicating openly, we build the strong foundations every child needs to flourish – both now and as they move on to school.
The team have brought out so much confidence in my daughter — and they’ve supported us every step of the way.
